Week 17 of the 52 week Money savings Challenge: I'm breaking the rules today! I'm taking change from the money pot.

twenty pounds sterling note - 52 week money challenge
Yes, I'm breaking the rules! How? I am only have a twenty pound note, you can see it's different in appearance from the five pound and ten pounds notes. Those are made from some polymer plastic thing. Don't ask me why.

Well apparently its more durable and less likely to be copied and made counterfeit, but the new design is yet to be rolled out to the twenty pound and fifty pound notes. Anyway, I need flexibility in my life and this challenge is getting a bit too much with me looking for change, or putting in IOUs so I'm taking CHANGE. Yes, that's right, I'm taking CHANGE FROM THE MONEY POT!

So I'm putting in a twenty pound note which means I'm getting three pounds back. So after opening the money pot, I dipped  my fingers in the jar and took out the three pounds coins.

I put the twenty quid (pound) note in the jar and that's all.

Now I have my three pounds change. Not sure what I'm going to be using it for though. Maybe I should dave it for next week so I only need to find £15. I think it's too early to do a count down. It will be interesting at the half way point, which will be week 26. Will I get there? Will I continue?

I've got one big to-do item on my list which is to open up an account. Yes, I keep on banging on about it  in this blog post challenge but I really mean it. Perhaps I need a deadline? A delivery date? Okay I'll say by the end of June, that is midway into the year, and it gives me a couple of months to sort out.

The only issue with banking the cash is that it will harder to spend, like I mean harder to access, oh well, I guess that is whole point of savings.

Show me your desk: Books, magazines, bottle of water, and same old clutter.

Today I have more of a writerly desk, so let's roll. From the far left handside is my writing magazine, I treat myself to it, and it has some interesting articles at times. It's just something I flick though the way other people buy GQ, Vougue or Marie Claire. It's my monthly interest magazine, and no I don't do the writing exercises but then who buys all the clothes, make-up and perfume advertised in the high-end women's magazines.  Next is a bottle of vitamins, this was a gift from Sis. Yes, as you probably realise, Sis is very generous with her gifts as they are normally featured on my desk. If fact the Apple Notebook is also one.  A small fact is that I bought my first phone only two years ago because for the last ten years, Sis gave me all her hand-me-downs. She's very on top of technology - ahead of the curve, wave or early adaptor.  Anyway she got me them because she's into healthy eating and body care, and probably got them on discount. ...

Up Date on Happenings: Newly Single & 17% pay raise.

Hey Everyone, So update since my last entry. Well I had a brief fling with Mr Sexy Guy and decided he wasn't the one for me. He was cool but I learned the difference between lust, chemistry and personality. It just didn't tango for me. I'm still grossly overweight, well, fat. I don't think there is anything wrong with being called fat. I am fat. I need to lose weight but that means getting organised and stop eating delicious food. Then again my knees are hurting me and joints feel the ache. I also haven't been to the gym in three months despite paying for it. But when I do, I normally go for the sauna, hot tub and   steam room session. I've thought of cancelling the exorbitant membership but in the climate apart from bills it's the one thing that is just for me...that when I use it. Work is fine, managed to get a 17% pay raise. A big thanks to my boss who also pushed for it. It's good to work for people who support you in that matter. I think tha...

Had coffee with a fellow writer, went to an exhibition on West Africa: Word, Symbol, Song at the British Library.

There was a massive Disney Christmas tree at St Pancras Station.  I thought I'd start with that picture. Implemented Accounting Guru Genius (AGG)  method this morning. I mentioned yesterdays she showed me her way of planning. Well it's kinda like project management critical path and working back but in AGG's way.  Well the results where what I sort of knew but it's official. I do too much. I've got so much on that I have make very slow progress with anything then end up procrastinating. So I really need to learn and get this planning and time management method under my belt. The only reason is that it's kinda the only thing I actually got. When AGG first did it, I was amazed. It was so impressive. I kinda forgot about it but it's coming up to the end of the year, and I've made great progress with some goals and projects but others are still hanging. Anyway after putting in all my hours I realised I only had a certain amount of free time. Not a...
