Week 25 of the 52 week Mo Money Challenge: Went to the bank and got the money out! Ouch!

Week twenty-five! Can you believe it? Wow! So today, I had a half day holiday from work and so decided instead of doing another IOU for twenty five pounds maybe I should just make a withdrawal. Normally, the banks are closed by the time I get home so I took this opportunity and that's the reason why I have twenty five pounds.  It was painful withdrawing the money, but it was better than owing the money jar more money.

These challenges are only fun for those who make them, and write on how to do them. The actual doing  and saving is boring. Again, if you want to have regular savings, get a saving accounts and put a fixed sum preferably on the same day of your payday and put that money away.

Look at how many times, I've put in an IOU into the pot. I think it's about three times now though I paid one off, paid a pound towards one and the larger one is still outstanding. And there has been a couple of  occasions when I needed change so I got it from the money jar. Yeah, I broke the rules, but it's a bit foolish if I needed to break a larger sum into smaller ones and I didn't use the money jar.  I think I broke a twenty into two tens or something.

Anyway, regular savings is good but since it's a financial investment, remember my disclaimer, I am not  qualified to give financial advice so please seek  qualified financial advice before you make any investments.

Daily Writing Journal: Mo Money Challenge - week 8 which means £8 in the tin!

£8 in coins So I'm on my second week on saving and still not sure. I'm not feeling the pinch per se, but it's hard thinking how am I going to maintain this. So I managed to get a few coins out and gather some change, but at some point I'll really need to organise this. I've put in four fifty pence pieces with come up to two pounds sterling and the rest in pound coins.  Remember the money tin from last week. Well it all went inside that.... How am I feeling? Slightly bored but I still have a long way to go..... Saving money is boring, spending is more interesting.

Film, Movie or Boxset Night: On Chesil Beach

I was haunted by the book, and I had questions to ask if I ever met the author, 'what happened to Florence?' Well, this film answered it. Still even though Ian McEwan wrote the screen play, I'm not sure. There were changes that were a nod to commercialisation but I don't think it worked. It was mostly slow, awkward and painful watching. However my question of what happened to Florence was answered, especially if you are a romantic like me. I'm glad I saw it to find out what happened to Florence but after a while it went down hill and all Hollywood. I don't know...Not a hit. Basically if you haven't read the book, I'd give it a miss. If you had read the book and had any lingering questions, though this film may be long and painful and very awkward it may answer your questions.

5 Gifts from my Sister, Sis...

My sister is one of the most generous people I know, and she tends to buy things in twos - one for her and another for me. So these are five of her gifts. My MacBook Air This is was a present a few years ago and has been excellent for me. Light, hardwearing and durable. Neals Yard Aromatherapy Diffuser  She got me this for Christmas and I use it regularly to unwind and relax. Chinese Quilted Jacket Sis gifts me lots of clothes and this was one she brought back from her trip to China. NutRi Bullet - smoothie maker She's really into healthy eating, detox and all that stuff so she got me smoothie maker when she got hers. I use it once in a while, normally for fruit or veggie smoothies. It's quick and easy to clean.  Fit bounce Pro Rebounder (trampoline) The trampoline is the latest gift. She got herself one, and was super excited and impressed with it so got me one too. This is it all set up in my front room. Thank you, Sis!
