December Review and Final Week! Reviewing 2020 goals.

Review of 2020 Goals

So at the beginning of the year I set out some goals so let's see how far I've come!

1. Complete my novel-in-progress fit for publication

This is carried over from 2019, and I'm committed to finishing it in May but it's something I want to complete this year. If you have been following my blog, you'll also know I've done a few workshops and courses. The last one was the Faber Edit Your Course where I got a reader's report with some comments.

Feedback - still writing however I've written about 63,000 words to date so that is progress so I will keep on writing.

2. Fitness and Weight loss

This comes up every single year, and I seem to grow bigger however for the last few months, I've been in excruciating pain because of my knee. I went for physio or as Americans call it physical therapy but nothing really worked. I think it's more about my weight, even my calves are larger. So I probably need to eat less - mostly bakery products - and perhaps cook a little more.  My target is twenty pounds or about ten kilograms. I don't really know where to start but something needs to happen.

Feedback - I am fitter due to lockdown and walking up the stairs rather than taking the lift/elevator, however in terms of size, I am the same, maybe a bit bigger due the changes in lifestyle. I used to shop nearly daily so I knew what I wanted, now I shop weekly so buy more treats, biscuits etc. The good thing is that I'm now bored of eating cereal. However I also eat more takeaway from the local burger shop and chicken shop. I'm off pizza since I ate a lot during the first lockdown. To be honest lockdown has been a takeaway-fest. I've eaten more takeout/take-away this year than I've done in the last decade.

    3. Keep My CPD (Continuous Professional Development) up to date.

This has been a bit hazy but I need to focus on keeping up to date, perhaps attending events and conferences and writing it up. However the caveat with my professional body is that members need to figure out how they want to develop so it's more progressive and proactive in that sense than some other professional bodies who stipulate a certain amount of hours of study and events to count. I guess I can do it in line with where I am at the moment.

Feedback - still in progress, but I'm figuring out a plan. Lockdown - yeah, we all use that reason or excuse - is the main reason it has been off the agenda.

    Overall

Other things got done so not a big deal, so I'll be posting my new goals in the new year. I'm also going to be doing things slightly differently.

    Happy Holidays and keep safe!

My African American & Black Love Romance Adventure Nearly Ready After Four Years.

Thanks for dropping by and taking the time to read this. This post is going to be about my upcoming black love and African American contemporary romance release, which I think tentatively will be late this year or early 2024. It will be a six-part serialised novel, and I'll reveal the date nearer the time. It has been five years since my last black love romance novel. I have two novellas published on Amazon, and I'm  pleased to finally say, I'm about to publish again. It's been a long time.  I planned to release this book in February 2019, but after a long writer's block and other things, it had taken me this long to complete it.  If you follow this blog on and off, I've spoken about it a lot over the years. I'm thinking maybe I should relabel those blog posts as a series of how it developed.  The Story Description The names have changed well from Angelica to Pippa but it's fine.  Everyone wants someone special but PIPPA MILLER thinks not her. She

Lost Four Pounds! Attended Pilates! Watched Patricia Bright

On Friday my boss got bored of me talking about my eating plan and how I only used my gym for the spa facilities, so let's just say I forced to put my money where my mouth was and ended up booking five exercise sessions. Yes, hard to believe I've been with my gym for over a year and have NEVER ATTENDED A GYM CLASS. Mainly, because I like the spa and thing food reduction is the way to lose weight also just thinking of exercise exhausts me. I needed to book them via the website but having never done it, my password failed so I rang, in front of my boss, the gym to book it. Proof. They are mainly low impact classes so nothing too strenuous or so I thought. Come Saturday, I'm down the gym for my pilates class with all these fit, slim and trendy people. It's a 9AM class so basically like a work day for me. I thought pilates was gentle. Not. I say this having done it for about three years in a dance school - yeah I was once about twenty pounds or ten kilos lighter - and the

HAPPY NEW YEAR - LET THE GOALS ROLL

Hello all. Happy New Year! So last year was awesome for me because I managed to achieve one goal. The biggest goal which was to get a new job. And that came with financial reward as well. Yay! It was hard, challenging, horrible. I hate change but I had to get out of the rut I was in. Dudes, I was desperate to move. So I dug deep, did my interview practice, attended a number of interviews and hit one. Yay. Now longer gaming. I didn't need the escapism with my new positive work environment. I also abandoned the iPhone family and went Android. To cut a long story short, I got bought an iPhone 8 but it was faulty - however Apple weren't transparent about their return policy - ALWAYS ASK ABOUT RETURN POLICY. Nor did they believe the phone was faulty. It was. Anyway I was so disgusted the arrogance of the 'apple people', I decided instead of getting a replacement to spend my money elsewhere. I'm still part of the Apple family. But the Apple Store sales assist
