The progress So far so good, and now I'm thinking about the covers and epilogue. Do I need an epilogue? This is draft of the blurb. What do you think?
The Blurb
She has a son to raise, a future to build, and zero time for a man with a record. He has freedom to guard, a family to defy, and one look at her that changes everything.
Twenty-year-old Precious survives on rules: trust no man, rely on no one, and keep her three-year-old son safe. Upton Thomas breaks every single one the moment he walks into Mrs. Cee’s chip shop—ex-con, old-money heir, and far too cocky for her liking.
But walls crumble when her son collapses and her world stops. In the chaos of a hospital corridor, Upton is the only constant—the only one holding her up, the only one she can’t push away. One reckless kiss later, and the man she swore was temporary is suddenly in her flat, her bed, and the edges of her heart she thought were sealed.
Upton is fighting his own war. His powerful family wants to control his second chance. The ex is lurking around. And Precious is carrying her own weight: a baby father who refuses to let go, a life held together by grit, and a body that betrays her every time Upton touches her.
What they have is messy, magnetic, and undeniable—but it’s not enough to stop the jealousy, the secrets, and one devastating misunderstanding that sends Upton bolting for America without saying goodbye. Leaving Precious empty-handed at an airport, too late to make him stay.
Months later, in a quiet town far from London’s noise, fate isn’t finished with them. No interfering families. No toxic exes. Just the raw truth, and a second chance to choose a love worth every scar.
A steamy, emotional Black love romance about messy beginnings, fierce redemption, and holding on when everyone else says let go.
Cover Decisions - illustration or realism?
Anyway it series and I'm considering different covers from this one. The first is more romcom and the second is realism. The decision is still out there. These books are on my novels-in-progress https://dabwrites.blogspot.com/p/projects-in-progress.html page.
