Hectic work shedule, Internet Detox due to FOMO and staggering my goal setting

Happy New Year again!!! Internet Detox and Rationing I've being off because I realised I was spending too much time online, mostly hanging out on the writing forums at Scribophile (a brilliant writer's critiquing website with an addictive forum) and general surfing. I was also developing a serious case of the FOMO - the Fear Of Missing Out in Social Media. This often happens when I get tired, I just end up surfing or reading lost of posts. This is defined by Wiki -  Fear of missing out or FoMO is "a pervasive apprehension that others might be having rewarding experiences from which one is absent". This social angst is characterized by "a desire to stay continually connected with what others are doing". So I tried to ration my internet time but didn't work, eventually I decided the best way was to give Momma AG my router to keep and only have it on weekends to ween myself off the internet. I still have access at work, public libraries and etc but

Happy New Year! On an Internet Detox regime.

Happy New Year, and wishing everyone the best! I had a great Christmas and New Year with friends and family. I even baked a carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Yum. It's kinda put me off cakes because it was so rich. I've decided to go to Weight-watchers next week and sign up for three months. And for the next few weeks, I've decided to cut down using the internet at home. Yes, I discovered a lot of my time is online - checking emails, social media, researching  and procrastinating. So after various attempts to stop, I decided the best way was to remove my router and it to Momma AG to keep. It was hard. I replugged the router back four times and went surfing until I decided enough was enough. It's not that harsh since I have access at work, my local cafe & pub and the public library. Those are manageable. The crutch came when I was doing a critique for a story on the online workshop I belong to and found I'd been on line for five hours. Five hours? Not

Boxing Day Sales Haul - House of Fraser, Debehams and Oxford Street in general.

Boxing day sales haul! So got out of the house early to check out the WestEnd sales. The Beautiful One wasn’t impressed with her gift so I had to get her something else – which I did in the sales. And no, I didn’t return the orginal gift – Momma AG got that. The celebrate passing my exams I got myself a Mulberry purse. I’ve had a Muimui one which I’d been using disgracefully for the last five years. It’s in a pretty bad condition but a battered Muimui is still a Muimui. However I thought it was time due an upgrade. At first I was thinking of getting a Smythson one but didn’t get round to going to Bond Street. A bit of a funny story.   I went there, and there is a bit of snobbery here, basically because these sales assistants, normally the inexperienced ones, like to weigh up people. They lose a sale. So the first stop Debehams browsing in the make up department. I went to some new range called Black Up and on the other side was Fashion Fair. Did these sales assistant
